Action Alpaca Farm
12 Dec 2021
Action Alpaca Farm Placeholder Thumbnail

The Action Alpaca Farm project is one of our most popular projects, but it is almost one that requires the most work. You'll meet us in the Action Office by 9:45am, so you can sign in and help us get all the tools needed for the day to the coach. The coach leaves promptly at 10am and will arrive at the farm between 10:30 and 10:45.

Volunteering on the farm will be from 11am to 3:30pm. The jobs previously have included shovelling and raking gravel to create a path, tree planting, painting, gardening and other general maintenance jobs. The volunteering on the day can be quite tiring, but it is very rewarding! The work we do in one day can take the staff on the farm 1 to 3 months to complete.

To finish the day, we go into one of the alpaca fields where you can see, pet, feed and take as many selfies with the alpacas. This feels so rewarding after the hard days work, and the alpacas are always so welcoming.

The only thing you will need to bring with you is a packed lunch! The rest of the trip is completely free ????

Location: Off-Campus
Time: 09:45am - 05:00pm

FAQ

Contact your hall Action Rep or come into the Action office in the Student Union.

Yes we log hours and we have a reward system for 10, 25, 50, 100 and 150 hours!

Of course, you can either email the Action Chair or the project leaders of direct projects to get involved, or alternatively, come along to your department projects!

You can run to be either one of our Hall representatives or Department Student Involvement Officers (SIO's) through the respective areas, or you can apply to be a Project Leader directly. If you really want to be involved, committee applications for next year will open after Easter.
