tALK to the elderly over a freshly prepared roast!
Now in its sixth year, Sunday Roast is a highly successful project, which brings together elderly residents and students over a classic Sunday lunch. Currently running once a month and entirely student-led, the project involves a group of Action volunteers helping to prepare, cook and serve a roast dinner and dessert to the elderly residents and their families. As well as this, a key part of the project involves sitting down and chatting with the residents during the meal, as many of them live alone and really appreciate students taking the time to socialise with them, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all. You don't need to be a culinary genius to volunteer on this project, just a friendly face that's willing to help!
