Waterpolo

Club Introduction

Loughborough Students Waterpolo is split into two teams of 30 members (Men’s and Women’s) each with a 1st and 2nd team. Both teams offer the potential to play matches throughout the year.

All abilities are welcomed, experienced players and beginners alike. We offer 4 training sessions a week, delivered by our captains, where you will be able to improve your swimming, waterpolo technique and match play. Our team includes ex and current members of  Team GB Waterpolo, meaning there are lots of possibilities to learn and develop your skills through advice and guidance from experienced players.

As a club, both the Men’s and Women’s teams compete in the BUCs leagues (division 1), as well as playing Cup matches throughout the year. We also aim to schedule friendly matches against other universities to improve game play, train less experienced players and to guarantee game time for all.

If you have ever taken part in swimming, or are looking to try something completely new, this will be a great sport for you to try. We welcome newcomers to the sport and experienced players, with both always finding they enjoy the social aspect of the club in addition to the competitive nature of the sport.
