We hope you had a safe and happy new year – as people are starting to return to campus, we wanted to update everyone on the reopening of our nightclub and drop in a quick reminder of our COVID-19 policy.
On 4th January, The Prime Minister announced that the UK would be continuing with its Plan B approach to controlling the Omicron variant of COVID-19, and that these measures would be reviewed by 26th January. Within the current guidelines, nightclubs are allowed to operate providing that they require attendees to prove their vaccination status or show a negative lateral flow test.
As a result, we will be opening The Treehouse for Hey Ewe and FND on Wednesdays and Fridays each week, starting on Wednesday 12th January. These will be reduced-capacity events until exams are over and everyone's back to campus, with tickets going on sale for each night on the Monday prior at 1pm on our website and the SU app. All attendees will be required to show a valid COVID passport or negative test result from the last 12 hours (demonstrated with the NHS COVID Pass app or EU DCC), or a valid Vaccination Certificate.
There will be no Season Pass for these events, but we’ll see what we’re able to do after Boris’s next announcement!
Activities coordinated by our student groups will continue as usual, but we kindly ask that everyone wears a mask when possible (unless medically exempt) and that operations are reviewed to allow for social distancing.
You can read the full boring details on our website. And remember: if you feel unwell, please stay at home.
Happy 2022 from LSU
See you soon! x
